The first memorial lecture for the late Nigeria’s first lady and initiator of Better Life Programme for Rural Women, Mrs. Maryam Babangida has been slated for November 4, 2017, in Asaba, Delta State.

The initiator of the project, Ambassador Leo Ezenweani Okogwu, elder brother and Chairman, Board of Trustees, yesterday, in Asaba, said the theme of the lecture is ‘The Nigerian Women, Before, During and After Better Life Programme for Rural Women’.

According to him, a salute to Maryam Ndidi Babangida would be delivered by Dr. Fati Ibrahim, an erudite scholar, which would be spiced up by reactions and testimonies from invited guest. He further said that Maryam’s dress styles would also be showcased at the event.

Okogwu further stated that the project would showcase the virtues of women in nation building, especially as it relates to Mrs. Babangida’s initiation of better life for rural women in 1987.
