The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has directed all security agencies in the state to arrest and prosecute all Biafran agitators, who flouted the ban on illegal separatist processions and demonstrations in the state.

The Governor, in a statement signed yesterday by the State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Dr. Austin Tam-George, condemned the demonstration by the Biafran agitators in Oyigbo Local Government Area of the State on Friday, describing it as acts of criminality.

It would be recalled that some protesters, who claimed to be members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOD) had on Friday, barricaded the roads in Oyigbo Council, an entrance from Aba to Port Harcourt, harassing innocent people.

The Statement reads; “It has come to the attention of the Rivers State government that some Biafran agitators have resorted to illegal processions, and assaulted law abiding citizens and residents of the State.
