Winter Storm Forces Arik Air To Postpone New York Flight

Arik pix CopySEVERE winter storm and weather advice received from the JFK International Airport in New York, United States (US) has forced Arik Air to reschedule its Lagos-New York flight billed to take off yesterday tentatively to 11:30pm (local time) on Sunday January 24.

According to the airline, the 48-hour postponement was intended to allow the dangerous winter storm (Jonas) and snow condition to clear before the flight’s entry into the US airspace.

A statement signed by the airline’s PR and Communications Manager, Mr. Adebanji Ola, said: “Arik Air regrets the inconvenience caused by this postponement,” but quickly added that the safety of passengers was of upper-most importance to the airline.

He said the airline would update passengers and confirm its next flight by 6pm today, adding that passengers may also call the following numbers at any time for update: +234 1-2799999, +234 807 7793 503, +234 807 7793 504.
