Edo State women, drawn from the state’s three Senatorial Districts, under the aegis of ‘Edo Female Opinion Leaders,’ yesterday, called on aggrieved leaders of the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to eschew politics of divisiveness and embrace peace for the state’s development.

The women said they were in solidarity with Governor Obaseki’s second term bid, due to his developmental strides and good governance in the state.

Leader of the group, Mrs. Nosakhare Aladeselu said: “As mothers of the state, we urge all concerned to bear with Governor Obaseki in wading through the maze of governance, as governing a highly complicated physical and social terrain, with myriad of challenges is no mean feat.”

The women, who said that Obaseki deserves a second term ticket, wants APC leaders to give peace a chance, to enable the Governor and his deputy, Comrade Philip Shaibu continue to deliver the dividends of democracy.

Also, hundreds of members of the organised Labour, including market women and students, yesterday, held solidarity rally in support of the re-election of Obaseki.

The NLC Treasurer, Barry Imade, said the state labour movement was very pleased with Obaseki’s performance, and so, deserves another term.
