Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Jawura Environmental Services, Tosin Rowland-Osibanjo, has urged Nigerians to embrace collaboration, innovation and sustained action in addressing environmental challenges and building a cleaner, greener and more sustainable future.
Rowland-Osibanjo made the call during a media parley in Lagos ahead of the commemoration of the 2026 World Environment Day of The Green Print 2.0 the company’s flagship environmental sustainability initiative.
According to him, environmental sustainability can only be achieved when individuals, communities, businesses and government institutions work together to tackle pressing issues such as poor waste management, pollution and climate change.
“As we celebrate World Environment Day, let us remember that building a cleaner, greener and more sustainable future requires collaboration, innovation and consistent action from all of us,” he said.
Speaking on the initiative, he explained that The Green Print 2.0 is a three-day campaign aimed at educating, engaging and inspiring citizens, particularly young people.
He disclosed that activities lined up for the programme include an environmental awareness roadshow across key commercial centres in Ikeja, commissioning of eco-huts constructed from recycled plastic bottles in selected schools, tree-planting exercises and an Environmental Fair.
The fair, he added, will feature expert discussions, recycling innovations, exhibitions and youth-focused conversations on climate action.
“We are particularly passionate about empowering young people who are critical drivers of sustainable change. Through this initiative, we hope to equip them with the knowledge and opportunities needed to contribute meaningfully to environmental protection,” he stated.
The Jawura boss commended the support of corporate partners and stakeholders whose contributions have made the initiative possible.
He gave special recognition to Union Bank, the principal sponsor, describing the bank’s commitment to environmental responsibility and community development as a demonstration of corporate leadership that can drive lasting impact.
He also appreciated Nigerian Breweries for its continued support, while acknowledging organisations participating in the Environmental Fair, including Wecyclers, EcoSisters and the Waste Museum, for their contributions to sustainable waste management and environmental advocacy.
Rowland-Osibanjo expressed optimism that the initiative would inspire greater environmental consciousness and practical actions towards a healthier and more sustainable Nigeria.
