Governance and Leadership expert, Dr Donald Agumenu is predicting that the wind of change that has just enveloped the United States electoral system will be replicated in Ghana with a technical knockout to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ticket.
Reacting to America president elect, Donald Trump’s comeback victory at the sidelines of the ongoing Volta regional campaign tour by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) running mate, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang, Agumenu said his parallel statement to that of Ghana is not simplistic as there are indications that Ghanaians will be voting massively based on their personal and general economic conditions.
“The wind of change that characterised the U.S. electoral system should not be lost on Ghanaians. Let us embrace Sankofa and vote massively for John Mahama on December 7, 2024 as President of Ghana,” he pointed out.
Agumenu said while he is not oblivious to the complexities surrounding Donald Trump’s political comeback and success, he equally believes this victory is a testament to a prevailing spirit and the sovereign will of the people.
“I congratulate him on his victorious outcome and determination towards world peace. I sincerely hope his foes will turn over a new leaf of love and work towards global peace, security and prosperity,” he said.
The expert also said he believes in all personal convictions that divinity is not on the side of the NPP and its presidential candidate in this year’s election stating further that in all ramifications, you’d come to realise that the time has come for the government to change hands to NDC.
“One of the key factors that redefines the uniqueness of this year’s election is the candidates involved, unlike 2016, 2020 and other previous elections. Unlike the Akufo-Addo- Bawumia ticket against Mahama-Amissah Arthur- Naana Jane tickets, the principal on the ticket of the NPP today doesn’t have the mettle and presidential maturity to lead this country,” he stated.
