YCE rejoices as Sunday Igboho regains freedom in Benin Republic
Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE), yesterday, expressed happiness over the news that the Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, has regained freedom from incarceration in Benin Republic.
YCE Secretary-General, Chief Oladipo Oyewole, described the development as pleasing, lauding the Bola Tinubu-led administration for the news.
Oyewole said: “So Sunday Igboho has been freed by the Government of Benin Republic and he has gone to join his family in Germany.
“YCE is quite pleased that the Federal Administration in Nigeria under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a government with listening ears. God bless Nigeria.”
Adeyemo, dressed in white and seated on a plastic chair, read a prepared speech in the video clip circulating online on Sunday.
The activist thanked sons and daughters of Yoruba all over the world for their support and singled out a leading figure of the Yoruba nation agitation, Banji Akintoye; Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka; and former President Olusegun Obasanjo for their roles in securing his release.
