IN line with his tradition of creating new collection to mark a New Year, Lagos-based fashion designer Olorunyomi Omoniyi Makun, otherwise know as Yomi Casual, recently released his 2015 collection. Tagged The Fantastic Collection, the neatly crafted designs show the creative ingenuity of the young designer, who has successfully launched his fashion label, especially among celebrities and showbiz practitioners.
Made up of perfectly casual luxe outfits, with a high level of masculinity, the new collection has so many cuts and styles, which are no doubt a modern approach for the ‘Fantastic Man’ to looking great. The well-tailored plain and patterned designs on the collection with debonair embroideries, makes the Fantastic Man collection a perfect ensembles to leave a lasting impression.
And to further push the new collection, the designer made use of notable stars as models. They include Zack Orji, Desmond Elliot, Uti Nwanchukwu, Ik Ogbonna, Gbenro Ajibade, and Big Brother celebrities such as Melvin Oduah and Bimp, all looking dapper in this amazing collection. Whether you an uptown man in an uptown world or a real country gent, Fantastic Man collection should be your goal.
Speaking on his new collection, Yomi casual said, “we thought about how well we could make our clients look good and classy in 2015, without wearing suits, and we discovered 80 percent of our clients are top class business men and notable personalities. So, we had to come up with something very simple and classy. The collection cuts across all age,” he said.
Though tagged Fantastic Man, the collection also caters for the female folks.
“The collection is fantastic man but we always like to give the populace something to talk about and the feedback has been awesome,” he said.
On the fabric for the collection, Yomi informed that, “they are exceptional; I made use of high quality Italian fabrics. The colours are very cool and matured; I made use of different dusks of fabrics on some of the designs in place of embroidery.”
You call him ‘celebrity designer’, but for Yomi, it’s all about making good designs that fit.
“I don’t see myself as a ‘celebrity designer’, rather I’m just following the footprints of my mentor Mudi Africa. I make clothes for people that like classy and well cut to fit traditional outfit as well,” he said.
