Yoruba group urges FG to release minors arrested over protest
Yoruba Youth Socio-Cultural Association (YYSA), on Saturday, appealed to the Federal Government to ensure the unconditional release of minors who were arrested during the EndBadGovernance protest.
The National President of YYSA, Habib Olalekan Hammed, made the call in a statement made to journalists in Ibadan.
The YYSA president said the minors were ignorantly recruited as agents of destruction.
He said many of them should have learnt their lessons while in detention.
He said: “The juveniles were ignorantly recruited as agents of violence and destruction by malicious mischief makers who were pivoting their hidden agenda for political gain all in the name of protest.
“Moreover, many of them should have learnt their lessons while in detention.”
The youth leader urged parents to take good care of their children to avoid being used as a tool in the hands of politicians.
“We, however, implore parents to take good care of their children and avoid being used as a tool in the hands of the politician,” he added.
