Beneficiaries of Lagos Youths Skill Acquisition and Empowerment Programme, an initiative aimed at alleviating poverty, were filled with joy as they received certificates at their graduation ceremony held in the palace of Oba Azeez Gbadabiu Asiwaju, Onikotun of Ikotunland, Alimosho Local Government Area, Lagos State.

Founder of the programme, High Chief Owolabi Salis-Fakos, the Otunba Amuludun of Ikotun Kingdom, said it was his means of giving back to society and reduce the number of youths that depend on others. The programme started two years ago in Somolu with 1,600 participants. The training was later extended to local councils with 38 centres across Lagos.

The Alimosho centre coordinator, Mr. Alawi, commended Salis-Fakos for reaching out to the youths, which he said some governments ignore. He added that the next batch of the programme begins next week.
