The Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation held its annual end-of-year appreciation meeting on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at the Peace Comprehensive College Hall in Umunneochi Local Government Area, Abia State. The event brought together members from the foundation’s four zones — Isuochi Zone 1, Isuochi Zone 2, Nneato Zone 3 and Chieze Zone 4 — and recorded an impressive attendance of 220 people, including men, women, youth, and children impacted by the foundation’s initiatives.

The meeting served as an opportunity to appreciate members for their dedication and support throughout the year while celebrating the spirit of community and kindness that defines the foundation’s work. The gathering began with a welcome address by Don Silas, the Coordinator of Zone 2, who praised the foundation’s founder, Dr. Oluebube A. Chukwu, for his humility and commitment to improving lives. He noted that although Dr. Oluebube may not know all members personally, his devotion to spreading kindness and making a difference in the community is unmistakable.

Another zonal leader, Mr. Darlington Ohia, reinforced this sentiment, describing Dr. Oluebube as a man of the people. He highlighted the transformative impact of the foundation’s initiatives since its inception and commended Dr. Oluebube for reaching out to the community in ways that previous leaders had not. His remarks resonated with the audience, who responded with songs of gratitude and support for the founder.

When Dr. Oluebube addressed the gathering, he expressed heartfelt gratitude for the warm reception and the members’ unwavering loyalty to the foundation. He reiterated that the foundation operates solely on philanthropic principles and is not politically motivated. Emphasizing the foundation’s motto, “Building Today for a Better Tomorrow,” and his personal motto, “Bringing You to Happiness,” Dr. Oluebube explained that his motivation for helping others stems from a genuine desire to bring joy and hope to people’s lives.

Dr. Oluebube reminded the audience of the foundation’s six pillars—philanthropy, academic scholarships, agro-support, medical missions, micro-lending to small businesses, and leadership and mentorship—which serve as the guiding framework for its activities. He encouraged members to embody the spirit of kindness by being intentional in their efforts to bring smiles to others, stressing that no act of kindness is too small to make a difference.

Looking ahead, Dr. Oluebube shared exciting plans for the foundation’s future, including attracting a microfinance bank to Umunneochi, launching water projects for all four zones, and introducing membership cards that will offer health insurance benefits, subsidies, and cash assistance to members. He concluded by thanking everyone for their unity, dedication, and steadfast support, underscoring the importance of collective efforts in achieving the foundation’s vision.

The event concluded with the distribution of cash gifts, bags of rice, and hampers to attendees, leaving the atmosphere filled with gratitude and a renewed commitment to community service.
