Zulum inaugurates 300 houses for Borno IDPs
Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has inaugurated 300 houses for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from border communities with Cameroun in Uba/Askira Local Council.
The affected persons were displaced by Boko Haram insurgents between 2015 and 2017 in Rumirgo community.
The governor said the move is part of a 10,000-house initiative for resettling displaced persons in the state.
While commissioning the project, yesterday, in Rumirgo town, Zulum disclosed that the insurgents torched many people’s homes and public infrastructure, especially in the education and health sectors. He also promised to rehabilitate vandalised power lines.
