SIR: Looking deeply into the Ogun State Home Ownership scheme in recent times, it will be discovered that this scheme has suffered a huge setback from the Ministry of Urban and Physical Planning. No explanation/ information has been issued to the good people of Ogun State about the sudden change in the plan/ scheme.

Some houses have been inspected while many of those who have made the initial payment into the designated banks are yet to be visited or inspected by the officials from the ministry.

As we were told, this scheme will minimise disputes in ownership between Omo Onile/property owners/Government acquisition with regularised document, as some communities are already facing litigation in the court.

We believe that this scheme is not a fraud/sham. Substantial amounts home owners have paid into the designated bank as directed by the Ministry of Urban and Physical Planning. Documents have also been submitted by the law abiding citizens of the state to facilitate their houses being inspected or visited by the inspection agents.

We want to appeal to our amiable governor, Ibikunle Amosun to look into this dragging issue from the Ministry of Urban and Physical Planning, as we together celebrate the 40-year of the creation of Ogun State and we rejoice with the governor for leading the state “in such a time as these.”
