Let my number 08033188772 work

SIR: Some MTN subscribers have been facing problems emanating from telephone lines blockage by the telephone operator. Such customers were unable to access their telephone facilities. This created a lot hassles and inconvenience for the customers. My telephone line no 080 331 88772 was also caught in this web, thus I could not make calls and cannot receive calls since Sunday, November 29, 2015.

On Monday, November 30, 2015, I visited the Iju Ishaga MTN service centre where I did the registration. This was the third time that I will be doing such registration. I waited till Wednesday, December 2, 2015 and my telephone line was still inactive. I visited the MTN Yaya Abatan Service Centre, and I was informed that my registration was incomplete as my

‘Local Government “was missing. The Centre was rowdy and stuffy as the air conditioners were not working. I did the registration again, and after two days, I called the service centre through a borrowed line, and I was informed again that my “biometrics” was incomplete. Can we see the inefficiency of MTN and lack of care for their customers? The data inputs were captured by the MTN staff, so the error is not from me but from the MTN staff. When my line was blocked, I was asked to phone 180 and 180 was also blocked. So how can I contact MTN when all the avenues were blocked?

I visited MTN Iju Ishaga Service Centre on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at about 10 a.m., for another registration, but there was no access to the office due to the large number of customers at the centre. I checked the Yaya Abatan office, it was the same hullabaloo. The MTN staff appeared overwhelmed, uncoordinated as the facilities in place are inadequate for the large turnout of customers with registration problems. There were no priorities for senior citizens, pregnant women and women with toddlers. MTN should look for a better alternative for this registration. Is it possible for the customers to confirm their data before submission?

My line, 080 331 88772 was the first line that I obtained since the era of mobile telephony in Nigeria, and I was proud of MTN until now. Definitely, I will do the registration as soon as normalcy is restored in the service centres with a view to having my number back and then “port” to a better operator.

MTN, please restore my number 080 331 88772!!!!
