2026: Electorate won’t regret reelecting APC, says Osun party chieftain

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has expressed confidence that voters will not regret supporting the party in the upcoming August 8, 2026, governorship election.

Speaking on Sunday during a consultation visit by APC governorship aspirant Bola Oyebamiji to Obokun Local Government Area, Oyintiloye said the party is prepared to meet the expectations of the electorate through documented needs assessments compiled under the previous administration.

Oyintiloye, a former member of the Osun State House of Assembly and Special Adviser on Information and Civic Orientation under ex-Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, noted that the APC had a development blueprint ready for implementation.

“The blueprint to hit the ground running is already documented towards the expiration of Oyetola’s administration,” he said. “Our incoming governor will have a solid start with that document and his other initiatives that are being fine-tuned.”

Oyintiloye, who once led the Osun Civic Engagement Agency, said the party was committed to governance that responds directly to citizens’ needs.

Speaking at the event, Oyebamiji assured party members that the community-based needs assessments carried out in Oyetola’s second term preparation would be revived.

“The civic engagement agency will be resuscitated to bridge the gap between the people and government,” he said. “The administration of our boss, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola, invested in collating the needs of the people. What is being done with that document now? Let’s be patient. We will get there and do our best to implement it.”

The event was attended by several party leaders from Obokun Local Government and neighbouring communities.
