2027: Diaspora Nigerians Launch Continuity Campaign for Tinubu’s Re-election

Nigerians in the diaspora have launched a major voter mobilization campaign, “Call Home for Continuity,” aimed at galvanizing support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The initiative was unveiled during a two-day summit held in Houston, Texas, as part of the inaugural Nigeria Diaspora Economic Conference and Inauguration Ceremony organized by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors Diaspora – North America (RHADNA).

The gathering brought together diaspora leaders, political stakeholders and community representatives from the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom to discuss the role of Nigerians abroad in supporting national development and political participation.

Among the dignitaries at the event were Chairman of APC UK and Chairman of Diaspora Chairmen, Tunde Doherty, as well as APC USA Chairman and Special Adviser on Diaspora Coordination and Mobilization to the APC National Chairman, Prof. Tai Balofin.

Speaking at the summit, Balofin urged Nigerians living abroad to become active participants in shaping Nigeria’s political future by encouraging eligible relatives and associates at home to register to vote, obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and support the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

He described the diaspora as a critical constituency whose influence extends beyond remittances, stressing that sustained engagement could help consolidate ongoing reforms and strengthen democratic participation.

Balofin also presented awards and inauguration letters to newly appointed RHADNA coordinators across North America, describing them as frontline ambassadors of the “Call Home for Continuity” campaign.

He called on Nigerians abroad to deploy their networks, resources and influence in mobilizing grassroots support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 polls.

Host of the summit and General Coordinator of RHADNA, Ambassador Semiu Ayoola Olanipekun, said the time had come for the Nigerian diaspora to move beyond passive interest in the country’s affairs and become more actively involved in the democratic process.

According to him, the economic strength, professional expertise and family ties of Nigerians living overseas represent a powerful platform for promoting voter participation and civic engagement across the country.

Organizers said the campaign would leverage the close relationships between diaspora Nigerians and their families in all 36 states to encourage voter registration, PVC collection and wider grassroots mobilization in support of President Tinubu‘s second-term ambition.

They expressed confidence that the initiative would deepen political participation and strengthen the connection between Nigerians abroad and the country’s electoral process ahead of the 2027 general elections.
