… Cautions against individual interests, calls for collective sacrifice
… Hails Tinubu, Tunji-Ojo’s support
The Senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Jide Ipinsagba, has stressed the need for unity and selflessness among All Progressives Congress (APC) members in the district ahead of the 2027 general elections.
While emphasising that individual ambitions must be subdued for the collective good of the party, Ipinsagba maintained that cohesion and synergy would be non-negotiable if the APC hopes to secure victory for its candidates at all levels in forthcoming polls.
The Senator’s admonition came during a reception organised in his honour at Ikare-Akoko, Akoko North East Local Council Area of the state, following his successful bid for the party’s return ticket to represent the district in the National Assembly.
While addressing the supporters in their numbers, he urged them to translate the momentum generated by the reception into productive campaign efforts, rather than allowing the celebratory atmosphere to mask underlying tensions that could undermine the party’s electoral chances.
Ipinsagba, who expressed gratitude for the reception, hailed what he described as the pivotal role played by the minister of interior, Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, and his support during the primary.
He also commended the party chairmen of Akoko Northwest and Northeast, Kehinde Obanla and Saliu Mumuni, alongside other key stakeholders, including Bode Obanla, Hon. Atinuke, and the entire ‘BTO’ political family.
A party elder and former commissioner in Ondo State, Fatai Olotu, commended the senator for his legislative achievements over the past three years, stating that the people of the district are prepared to return him to the National Assembly based on performance.
Olotu noted that Ipinsagba’s tenure had brought development to the district, justifying the party’s decision to renew his mandate.
Another party stalwart, Cyril Egunlaye, lauded the party faithful for their support during the May APC primaries, describing the outcome as a clear reflection of the people’s confidence in Ipinsagba’s leadership.
He expressed optimism that the senator would continue to deliver quality representation in his second term.
Also, the senator’s chief of staff, Layi Yusuf, described the reception as historic and urged aggrieved party members to reconcile and unite behind the party’s candidates.
He emphasised that the magnitude of the celebration should serve as a unifying force rather than a source of division.
A party member, Mrs Mopelola Salami, also appealed to members to put aside their differences and work collectively to secure victory for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, describing the president’s re-election as a national priority.
