About 573 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as opposition continues to strategise ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The 573 defectors who are from Sabuwar Dan Masara town in Dutse were presented to PDP top brass in a ceremony held on Friday.
Speaking on behalf of the 573 defectors, Mustapha Adamu (Shugaba), said the decision to dump APC and align with PDP stemmed from their desire to seek a positive change, given the hardships in the country.
Mustapha expressed disappointment with the APC’s leadership and policies, blaming the ruling party for its lack of inclusivity and disregard for the needs of the people. He expressed confidence in the ability of PDP to offer a better platform for achieving their goals.

We invite all like-minded individuals to join us in this journey towards a brighter future for our state and country. Together, we can achieve greatness, ” he said.
