Buhari’s govt will bring a new lease of life to Nigerians, says Aregbesola
OSUN State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola has described the in-coming administration of All Progressives Congress {APC} under the leadership of General Muhammadu Buhari as a signpost of enhanced welfare and social justice for Nigerians.
He noted the protracted struggle by the progressive forces which culminated in the victory of the President-elect,Major Generakl Mohammadu Buhari stressing that the outcome of the recent general elections in the country fulfils the vision of the late sage, chief Obafemi Awolowo who had predicted that the progressives would one day govern the country at the centre.
Aregbesola, who spoke in Osogbo, the state capital while playing host to members of Buhari Action Group {BAG} said Nigerians should rejoice that there was peaceful election which brought victory to the APC across the country, stressing that the coming of Buhari would bring to end era of political brigandage and waste of national resources.
He said progressives elements should see the victory they recorded as a serious challenge to bring development to the society stressing that the March 28 Presidential Election bring to reality the struggle spearheaded by Awolowo since 1952.
The BAG were in Osun on a thank you visit for the role played by Aregbesola and the people of the state during the election which culminated in the victory of APC Represented by his Deputy, Titi Laoye-Tomori, Aregbesola said era of flagrant use of office, wastage of human and material resources and impunity in governance among political office holders is now a thing of the past following the victory of the party.
He said Buhari being a disciplined and focused leader would enthrone good governance that would bring new lease of life to all and sundry adding that the in- coming administration would work hard to ensure improment in living condition of Nigerians.
He said employment opportunities would be made available to youths, while provision of infrastructural facilities, free and compulsory education and viable health sector would be given priority by the Buhari- led administration. His words, “As a progressive party we are poised to fulfill the promises made. APC government at the federal level is poised at giving real dividends of democracy to Nigerians’’.
He expressed optimism that some of the people – oriented programmes of his administration including O-Meals, O-Yes and O-Reap would be replicated at the federal level to achieve the stated objectives. Aregbesola thanked people of the state for their unalloyed support for his administration which resulted in their voting massively for APC in last year’s governorship election in the state and the recent general elections.
Chief of Staff {CoS} to the governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola who was also present at the event said the coming of APC into governance in Nigeria is the beginning of a new dawn in the country adding that welfare of Nigerians would be given top priority by the coming administration.
Oyetola said corruption, which had eaten deep into virtually all aspects of national life would become a thing of the past as APC government across states of the federation is known for probity and accountability while General Buhari himself is a man of accountability.
Attributing the last presidential election victory to divine arrangement, former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Kolapo Alimi, said all gladiators who fought relentlessly to bring about the victory had written their names in gold.
Earlier, leader of BAG, Mr. Olagunju Ganiyu commended efforts of governor Aregbesola and members of his cabinet for their efforts in making the dreams of APC a reality.
On her part, Mrs. Funmi Gbadeyan, said the Aregbesola administration is a blessing to the state following series of people’s oriented programmes currently going on across the state and prayed for more successes of APC in Nigeria.
