Develop sustainable strategy to fund education, Obasanjo tells Tinubu

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has urged President Bola Tinubu to develop a sustainable strategy for financing education in the country.
Obasanjo made the call, on Tuesday, while speaking at the 70th birthday celebration of the Vice Chancellor of Bells University, Prof. Oludele Ojediran, which was held at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
He said Tinubu and the Federal Government must find a means to finance education for its sustainability.
He said: “President Tinubu and the Federal Government must find a means to finance education for its sustainability.”
The former president also urged all levels of government to empower youths to become job creators.
”Governments at all levels must also empower the youths to become providers of job opportunities,” he added.
He lauded LAUTECH for nurturing outstanding academics and administrators, highlighting Professors Adeyemi and Ojediran as notable examples. Both had served as Vice Chancellors of Bells University at different times.
On his part, the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Olaoye, commended Obasanjo’s contributions to the development of education and agriculture in the country.
Oba Olaoye urged Ojediran to leverage his expertise in agricultural engineering to enhance Ogbomoso’s development.
