A group under the auspices of the Generation For Change Africa Initiative (GFCAI), said Nigeria’s political elite is the greatest threat to the country’s democracy.

A group under the auspices of the Generation For Change Africa Initiative (GFCAI), said Nigeria’s political elite is the greatest threat to the country’s democracy.

They also observed that the present system could not solve the fundamental crisis in the nation or deliver dividends of democracy to the people.

Speaking yesterday, in Abuja at its maiden media briefing, the National convener of the group, Ogbu Ameh said: “This has been evident in the evolution of political party democracy in Nigeria since the second republic. The ruling party and the main opposition party, the rest are inconsequential, as they do not have moneybags as members”

He called on youths across all divides to eschew dirty jobs for greedy, unscrupulous politicians and see the 2019 elections beyond “Not Too Young to Run” as history beckons on them to protect their future.
