The Chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area, Lagos, David Olusegun Odunmbaku, has backed the endorsement of President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office by the Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Lagos APC had, on Tuesday, October 21, at a stakeholders’ forum at Eko Hotel and Suites, unanimously endorsed President Bola Tinubu to contest for a second term in office in 2027.

In attendance at the stakeholders’ forum were party leaders at both the state and national levels, former governors of Lagos State, council chairmen, and thousands of party faithful. They cited the President’s reform in various sectors of the economy as some of the reasons for the endorsement.

Speaking on the endorsement, in a statement on Wednesday, Odunmbaku, who also joined other participants to endorse the president’s second-term bid, said Nigeria has witnessed development under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.

Odunmbaku noted that the achievements of the president in areas such as education, transportation, and economic reforms are indicators that the president deserves to be voted for again in 2027.

The chairman mentioned the clearing of over $10 billion in foreign exchange liabilities by the Tinubu administration, which has helped to stabilise the naira; the securing of over $50 billion in new Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) commitments; the massive infrastructure drive with over 440 ongoing road projects nationwide such as the Lagos-Calabar coastal road, the Presidential Loan and Grant Scheme, as well as the Students’ Loan Scheme which has benefitted over 300,000 students.

He said, “President Bola Tinubu truly deserves a second term in office, and the endorsement by our party in Lagos State was an indication of the confidence we have in him and his administration. He has stabilised the economy and improved other sectors. As the chairman of Ojodu LCDA, on behalf of my people, we are in full support of the endorsement and will ensure the party wins come 2027.”

Odunmbaku further stated that the achievements of President Tinubu at the national level align with what his administration has also accomplished in Ojodu LCDA, specifically in areas such as poverty alleviation, youth empowerment, renovation of health centres, road construction, and education, under his HEYES five-point agenda.

He called on party faithful to rally around the party and President Tinubu for a second term.
