The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Oyo State, at the weekend, unveiled a female, Alhaja Atinuke Adesope, as the running mate to its governorship candidate, Mr. Popoola Olukayode Joshua, ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Adesope, who was officially presented to the party’s supporters at her unveiling ceremony held at Liberty Stadium, Ibadan, commended the leadership of the NNPP for giving equal opportunities to women.

She said all residents in every part of the state should expect positive impact of democracy in every aspect of their lives.

In his remarks, Joshua said his running mate has a rich experience in politics and her selection was a plus for the party. Joshua said NNPP was well equipped to take over power from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State come 2023.

He added that NNPP had become a mainstream party having entrenched itself in the minds of Nigerian electorate.

Similarly, the South-West leader of the party, Alhaji Adebisi Olopoeyan, said the time for Oyo to enjoy a fresh and soothing political atmosphere had come, and NNPP is the best choice to deliver it.

“We have come into politics to rescue the people from the social mess they have been put into. By the grace of God, NNPP is taking over the entire political space of the country, as our antecedents speak for us,” he said.
