Ondo State deputy governor, Dr Olayide Adelami, has just voted at his Igboroko 2, Ward 3 Unit 16 in Owo local government area.

At about 9:40am, Dr Adelami joined a queue of voters waiting to be accredited and thereafter was in line alongside members of his immediate family to cast his vote.

With election materials arriving ahead of time, the electorate converged on the various polling booths to confirm their names from the past voters’ register.

#OndoDecides: Massive turnout at Idanre, people with disabilities cast votes

The turnout for the Ondo governorship election was impressive at Idanre in the Central Senatorial District as thousands of voters, including the elderly and People with Disabilities (PWD) were on queue as early as 7:55 a.m. to cast their votes.

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were also punctual for the exercise. At Okelisa, Oke Agunla, Unit 001, voting commenced at about 8:15 a.m., while at Ojajigbokun Unit 005, the voting exercise started at 8:30 a.m.

Octogenarian Pa Olafisoye Ogunola (84), Olafisoye Akintelure, and Akinbufe Olusegun (55), all with disabilities, also came out early to vote.

INEC officials gearing up for today’s guber election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Friday said that it is ready for the governorship election in Ondo State on November 16.

INEC National Commissioner Supervising Ondo, Ogun and Osun States, Professor Kunle Ajayi, made the announcement on Channels Television’s Politics Today in Akure.

Ajayi told the Ondo electorate that INEC won’t disappoint them as they file out their numbers to elect a new governor.
