Ondo Guber: Deputy governor tips APC for victory
The Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olayide Adelami, has tipped the All Progressives Congress (APC) to win the forthcoming November 16 governorship election in the state.
This was contained in a release made available to The Guardian on Friday by the state’s image maker, John Paul Akinduro.
Dr. Adelami made the remarks on Thursday while receiving Dr. Felix Kehinde, the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives candidate for Ondo East/Ondo West, at the Governor’s Office in Akure.
The Deputy Governor admitted that the ruling party is excited to have Dr. Kehinde and many others in their camp while describing Governor Aiyedatiwa as the visionary leader Ondo State needs at the moment.
“The APC remains the party to beat in this election. We are fortunate because we have a man whom God has ordained at the helm of affairs in the state. My principal is working day and night to take Ondo State to greater heights.
“Governor Aiyedatiwa constantly puts the people at the centre of his policies, projects, and programs. We will never take the overwhelming support of the people of Ondo State for granted,” Dr. Adelami said.
The Deputy Governor seized the opportunity to urge the new entrants to see the APC as a progressive family, where everyone is welcomed with their ideas.
Dr. Felix Kehinde, a long-time political associate of the former Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, had resigned his membership of the PDP earlier in the week to join the APC, alongside hundreds of leaders in the Mimiko political structure.
While congratulating Adelami on his emergence as the running mate to Governor Aiyedatiwa, the former House of Representatives candidate said the people of Ondo Kingdom are proud to be part of the winning team.
