Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has called on Nigerians suffering injustices in the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other political parties to join Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as the umbrella is big enough to accommodate them.

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has called on Nigerians suffering injustices in the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other political parties to join Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as the umbrella is big enough to accommodate them.

Ortom made the declaration, yesterday, while hosting APC chieftain and 2019 House of Representative candidate for Makurdi/Guma Constituency, Hon Godwin Utaan with his teeming supporters, who were at Government House, Makurdi to notify the governor of their decision to join PDP.

He maintained that injustices, banditry, economic degradation, as well as killing of Nigerians by herdsmen have become the order of the day under the APC-led administration, stressing that PDP under him in the state is ready to harvest everybody that want to decamp to the party.

The governor assured people of the state that he would not disappoint them for reposing confidence in him since 2015, and their desire have brought on board a law banning open grazing to safeguard lives and property.

Earlier, Utaan told the governor that he decided to defect to the PDP with his supporters because the APC-led federal government had not been able to tackle insecurity and economic issues head on.

According to Utaan, the people of his constituency, who were predominantly farmers, have been living in Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps for years without care by the APC-led federal government.
