The Oyo State chapters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and African Action Congress (AAC), yesterday, condemned the demolition of Agodi Spare Parts Market.

Reacting, both parties alleged that Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration has a penchant for victimising the people while further enriching certain individuals in the guise of executing developmental projects.

This submission came in reaction to the lamentations of the traders in Araromi Agodi-Gate Spare Parts in Ibadan, whose wares and properties estimated at several billions of naira were destroyed on Thursday by agents of the state government, which came to demolish the popular markets ostensibly to pave the way for contractors, who have been mobilised to convert the facility to shopping malls.

The APC’s Publicity Secretary in the state, Olawale Sadare, also called for the immediate release of the 12 artisans, who were remanded in Agodi Correctional Centre.
