Sani urges states facing insecurity to adopt Kaduna’s model
The Governor of Kaduna, Senator Uba Sani, has advised states facing security challenges in the North and other parts of the country to adopt the Kaduna model.
According to him, peace has now returned to Birnin Gwari, a suburb of the State facing insecurity for several years, adding that economic activities have started picking up in the area.
Sani gave this advise as a special guest of honour at the gathering of the Association of Zamfara State indigenes resident in Kaduna, which took place at the banquet hall of Arewa House, Kaduna on Sunday.
The governor, who was represented by Special Adviser on Community Engagement, Mohammed Jalal, said he has been working tirelessly for peace to return to Kaduna State since he assumed office.
The governor also recalled that through the efforts of the Peace Dialogue Group established by the Kaduna State Government in collaboration with federal agencies and security services, peace has returned to Birnin Gwari.
Sani reopened the strategic Birnin Gwari Market, which had been closed for about 10 years, on November 29, 2024, signaling the commencement of commercial activities in the area.
Similarly, the Kidandan market in Giwa local government of Kaduna State, which had not been patronised for several years owing to insecurity, has been reopened, he said.
“Kaduna Model is freely available for any state that wants to adopt it,” Sani said.
