For peace in Akwa Ibom State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) delegates have been called upon to vote for competent candidate based on zoning.

They have also been advised not to vote for candidates with selfish ambitions to ensure harmony, fairness, justice, maintain sustainable peace, as well as reduce agitation.

Imoh Ben Udowa, a lawyer and senatorial aspirant for Akwa Ibom South (Eket) Senatorial District under PDP gave the advice in Eket while appealing to delegates to remain resolute in their decision of giving him the mandate.

He said: “I am going to be very articulate, vibrant, selfless, resourceful and outspoken in the parliament, especially during plenary, in sponsoring bills and moving motions for poverty alleviation that will bring direct benefits to our people of Akwa Ibom State and Eket Senatorial District in particular.”

Udowa, who is a tax consultant and entrepreneur-turned politician, declared his plans for general development to be anchored on some cardinal areas of needs such as establishment of cottage industries in all the 12 councils of the senatorial district, using the SWOT analysis and nearness to raw material for the siting.

He described his journey into politics as one driven by divine desire to positively change the narrative and to provide an alternative voice with a view to attaining the people’s desire of leaving above the poverty level.

Udowa, who is banker by training, said his main motive of contesting for the seat is solely based on his passion to improve people’s welfare and enable social justice.
