Zamfara election petition tribunal adjourns

ZAMFARA State governorship election petition tribunal sitting in Gusau, the state capital, has adjourned hearing for final ruling on a petition filed by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) challenging the election and declaration of Abdulaziz Yari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as governor of the state in the April general elections.

Governor-Abdulaziz-YariZAMFARA State governorship election petition tribunal sitting in Gusau, the state capital, has adjourned hearing for final ruling on a petition filed by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) challenging the election and declaration of Abdulaziz Yari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as governor of the state in the April general elections.

The tribunal had in its last sitting concluded hearing of all the defence and parties involved. It thereby adjourned and reserved the final date for judgment till the next sitting.

At the last hearing, APC produced one out of 44 witnesses while APGA presented all its 10 witnesses who gave their testimony before the tribunal. Also, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) presented some materials, which were tendered before the tribunal. During the trial, the petitioner tendered 182 exhibits.
