Cluttons launches Nigeria’s partner for its operations

AN international real estate services company, Messrs Cluttons, which operates in over 50 countries across the globe, has launched in Nigeria, partnership with Alpha Mead Facilities & Management Services Limited, AMFacilities, to increase its international presence and bring its real estate expertise to West Africa for the first time. 

 Cluttons Nigeria will provide a range of commercial and residential real estate services including commercial agency valuations and management, commercial and retail management, and strategic consultancy through its corporate services team.

 Speaking at the official launch of the Cluttons-AMFacilities Joint Venture in Lagos, last week, Cluttons Head of international, Ian Gladwin, said the firm wanted to come to Nigeria because it identified an opportunity in an exciting market for a global business like Cluttons. 

 According Gladwin, the rapid growth in the country’s real estate environment is a result of increased urbanisation, improving economic conditions and Nigeria’s emergence on the global stage, noting that Lagos is the gateway to West Africa and having a strong presence here is an important step in strengthening our established global platform.

“Nigeria offers us the opportunity to leverage our 40-year history in the Middle East, linking together two of the most dynamic regions in the world. We aim to create an investment and knowledge bridge, offering investors, multinational organisations, banks and developers our real estate expertise.”

On his part, CEO of AMFacilities, Mr. Femi Akintunde, an engineer, said the decision of both company to partner to raise the standard of property management in Nigeria is borne out of the dire need to deliver best practice to the Nigerian market, especially as Nigeria increases its dominance of the African economy.

  Akintunde stated that a facilities management company that is leading in the delivery of best practice to the African Market thought it wise to venture into real estate services so as to replicate the capacity it currently demonstrating in the industry. 

Thus, the needs to partner with a brand like Cluttons to bring that quality of real estate service that the Nigerian business space is looking for.

Erejuwa Gbadebo, who joins Cluttons having previously worked with the Broll property group where she was CEO, will head the Cluttons Nigeria office. Gbadebo is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), with 28 years of post qualification experience in both Nigeria and the UK.
