Developer laments cost of construction, unveils project in Lagos

Messrs Tetramanor Limited

A Lagos-based property development firm, Messrs Tetramanor Limited, has expressed concerns over the impact of rising cost of materials on building construction. The development, the firm said, has made access to housing tough for Nigerians.

The Chief Executive Officer of the firm, Mr. Femi Beecroft, who spoke at the signing of its brand ambassador, Emeka Eremfor, for the Comfy Burrows housing project in Lagos, explained that the situation affects demands for housing products after developers have invested huge amounts of money.

The Comfy Burrows is a block of 30-unit studio apartments built with young working-class singles and students in mind. The apartments located in Akoka, Yaba are also suitable for short let. The unique features of the furnished apartments include backup electricity, good security, closed circuit television, sewage treatment facilities, water treatment, good facility management and strategic location.

Beecroft said: “The only thing that is the problem is that people don’t want to pay high cost for houses, which makes the market a bit difficult but when people see quality in building, and brand they can trust, they patronise it.”

Erem said with a flexible payment plan offering of six months, it will make home-ownership for young professionals easier, as well as reduce the hurdle of access to housing in Lagos.
