The Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) has restated its commitment to the development of the profession, with much emphasis on grooming young members.

NIQS President, Mrs. Mercy Torkwase Iyortyer made the pledged during the maiden workshop in Abuja and Lagos organised by the institute’s youth arm – Young Quantity Surveyors Forum (YQSF), where she commended members of the forum for their bold initiative.

The programme was geared towards enhancing technical competencies and exposing the young members to diverse areas of practice; and bridging the gap between senior and younger members of the profession.

She concluded by describing the efforts of the forum as “Youths moving the Quantity Surveying profession forward”

Highlights of the events included interaction with the Chairman Association of Consulting Quantity Surveyors, Chief Lance Momodu; presentation on Advanced Microsoft Excel, and use of LinkedIn as a tool for positive professional image at the Abuja Zone.
