Mr Wale Adenuga, MFR, Chairman of Wale Adenuga Productions (WAP) Ltd, was among the award recipients at the inaugural edition of the Red Media Africa Living Legends Industry Awards which took place on October 16, 2015, at Harbour Point, V.I. Lagos.

Mr Adenuga received this award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the media industry in West Africa at the glamorous event which was attended by prestigious members of society; including Chris Ogbechie, Chairman of Diamond Bank; Biodun Shobanjo, Chairman of Troyka Holdings; Deji Awokoya, GM of Beat FM; MI Abaga, CEO of Chocolate City; Betty Irabor, CEO of Genevieve Magazine; Louis Otieno, Corporate Affairs Director of Microsoft; Uche Pedro, CEO of BellaNaija, and others.

Biola Adenuga, MD of PEFTI and Wale Adenuga Jnr, MD of WAP received the award and had this to say: “On behalf of Mr Wale Adenuga, MFR, we thank the organisers for this special recognition being given to him; as well as to other great men and women who have contributed immensely and sacrificed so much for the continuous development of Nigeria’s media industry.”

Over the years, Wale Adenuga has established several award-winning platforms which have greatly improved the quality of the industry; including the TV Dramas- SUPERSTORY and THIS LIFE; TV Comedy- PAPA AJASCO & COMPANY; Children’s TV Quiz Show and Live Events- NNENNA & FRIENDS; the 24-hour family entertainment channel- WAPTV; and the Pencils Film and Television Institute (PEFTI).

The colloquium attracted several key personalities including the playwright and culture communicator, Ben Tomoloju and top actress Joke Silva. Also in attendance was former editor of The Guardian on Sunday, Jahman Oladejo Anikulapo. In a short response, the veteran actress said: “Actors can change the world, they can change the system… we are actors because we want to project ideas, ideas that will change the world’’.
