Singer Adekunle Kosoko, better known as Adekunle Gold, has come through with visual for his latest single, Something Different.
The Jore crooner took to his social media page on Tuesday to announce the release of the much-anticipated video to his fans. “Something Different video out now. Link in my bio,” he wrote on his Instagram page.
The video comes days after the singer and his wife, Simi, welcomed their first child, a baby girl — Adejare (Deja). In the less than three-minute (2:58) colourful video, the latest father could be seen at the start of the video reflecting on his love for a woman, who is only interested in his money.
Gold, through the song and video, also tries to examine how differences in priorities among lovers could bring about a sour relationship, as he wished their relationship was not only built around financial gains.
The 33-year-old songwriter and graphic designer has continued to pull the strings in the Nigerian music industry with several beautiful projects, having settled comfortably in a sound that fits his voice.
Expressing a certain kind of comfortability in this new found space, Adekunle Gold, with his muse and the two back up dancers, takes a trip down memory lane in the nocturnal video that is psychedelic — all shades of classy, sensual and hip — which are synonymous to his budding alternative brand.
