Organisers of the CEOs Awards, NG BUZZ Executive Limited, a subsidiary of The Business Executive Group, have unveiled plans for the 2022 edition of the award ceremony. Billed to take place this month, the event will see winners smile home with various categories awards.

According to the organisers of the awards, a major consideration for the project is the fact that Nigeria has the largest private sector in Africa with most privately owned businesses, ranging from small and medium-scale enterprises to multinational corporations.

Being a federal state, the organiser said Nigeria also has more state-owned enterprises than majority of Africa countries, adding that men and women who run corporate Nigeria, are crucial to the fortunes of the corporations they head as Chief Executive Officers (CEOs).

“This is why those whose performance and conduct in the role of CEO have been exemplary and deserve public recognition,” the Group CEO of the company, Baroness Paulette Kporo, said.

Themed, Raising socio-economic titans to unleash a potential African Tiger, Kporo hinted, “We are organising the second edition of Nigeria’s Most Respected CEOs Awards, whereby most respected CEOs across a range of delineated sectors in Nigeria would be identified via public voting.”

The event will feature a red carpet gala evening where CEOs would be conferred with awards, while nominations would be received from the general public, through public solicitation.

“Both self and third-party nominations will be accepted. The announcement will include both the required content and the timelines for submission. Nominations will be received and their contents verified by our dedicated consultants. Self-nominations found to contain materially false information or claims would be disqualified,” he said.

He added, “Nominees who do not meet our minimum standards of accomplishment will also be disqualified. Shortcodes will be given to all nominees qualified to participate in the ballot and these will be announced to the general public with dates for opening and closing of voting.”

A leading audit firm in Nigeria will compile votes before the final winners will be announced.

Since 2011, the company has been publishing The Business Executive magazine, which carries in-depth and comprehensive articles on various sectors and topics in Africa.
