The founder of leading African jewellery brand that specialises in design and retail of premium fashion jewelry for men and women, Bland2Glam (B2G), Seyi Banigbe has stressed the importance of accessories and the future of the beauty industry in Africa.

Banigbe who marked the seventh year anniversary of the brand last weekend  at the Landmark Beach, Victoria Island, Lagos said,  B2G is for the fashion-forward person that loves to make a statement with every look.

“We believe great accessories say a lot about your personality, so for seven years, we stay committed to providing the best range of designs to enable people feel good, elegant, and look good.

“Bland2Glam is poised to make good fashion accessible to people across the globe hence our building a strong online presence alongside a brick-and-mortar retail network.

We started off as a female jewelry brand, but now, we now stock for men’s jewelry and we also launched also organic cotton tee-shirt line. So, we are a full fashion brand.

Oh how she started, Banigbe who is also a lawyer said, “the journey started from the boot of my car and it has evolved into a business that has about 20 staff,  with retail across major stores. So, we have a lot to be thankful for, that’s why we are celebrating.

“I’m grateful that I started a business that lasted for seven years now. We are paying salaries, we pay rent, we are launching new designs, people are buying our products. We look forward to more.

On why she decided to go into the business, she said, “I’ve been selling fashion stuff from school. I grew up to see my mom always sell.

When we started jewelry for men, most people were pessimistic about male jewelry, but we did it and we are doing great.

Nigerians are fashionable people so it’s fun. Africans have always been big on their jewelry. I think due to westernisation, you find us wearing a lot of western products than locals but Africans appreciate jewelry.

My plan for the future is to grow B2G to a company that can get listed on the stock exchange.  We sell our products across all African countries and across the globe.
