Blueprints For Value Creation ignites learning across Nigerian campuses

Rooted in African realities, yet globally informed, Blueprints for Value Creation, by Dr. Obichi Obiajunwa, a 14-chapter book structured into four well-curated sections, which teaches idea generation and design thinking to business modeling and sustainability planning, is being hailed as a game-changing resource for students, lecturers, and innovative leaders committed to solving real-world problems through structured creativity and strategic thinking.

At the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi, the book is gaining traction within. A Senior Lecturer and Head of the ATBU-BOI Tech & Innovation Hub, Dr. Isah Yakub Mohammed, describes the book as a holistic and practical approach to innovation, addressing both foundational theories and advanced management strategies. He said: “For students, this book demystifies innovation and empowers them with a roadmap for creating real value. It promotes responsible, future-ready thinking and should be part of every innovation-focused curriculum.”

Dean of Student Affairs at Umaru Musa Yar’Adua University, Katsina, Dr. Nura Suleiman Gwaram Suleiman said: “In Blueprints for Value Creation, which offers practical guidance on turning ideas into tangible value, the author Obiajunwa uses stories to illustrate concepts, making them more relatable and actionable. I found myself frequently pausing to note down ideas for my own work. I’ll recommend it to my project students – especially postgraduates – for mindset shifts toward innovative research.”

Dr. Bamiro Saka Adebisi from the Department of Physiology at the Lagos State University describes the book as a must-read for any innovative mind. “I’ve read all 385 pages, and I have no doubt it’s a masterpiece. It inspires readers, simplifies complex terms, uses relatable stories, and applies across disciplines – health, education, business, engineering, and agriculture. At a time when Nigeria needs creative, innovative minds, this book lays a solid foundation.”

Recommended as a manual for all students incubating at the university’s tech and innovation hub, it will guide student-entrepreneurs as they build startups and scalable projects using the book’s methodologies and frameworks. It transforms the often-vague concept of ‘innovation’ into a clear, teachable, and actionable discipline.

Drawing from Obiajunwa’s experience as a public health physician, innovation consultant, and founder of the Young Innovation Leaders Fellowship, the book combines theoretical grounding with hands-on wisdom.

“Innovation is not just about tech, it’s about value – and value can be created by anyone, anywhere, with the right mindset and method,” Obiajunwa writes in the introduction.

For Nigerian universities preparing students for a complex future, for educators seeking relevant teaching tools, and for aspiring changemakers eager to build ventures and solve real problems, the book is not just timely, it is indispensable.
