Mai Martaba, The Man Died, The Weekend for Nollywood in Hollywood event
Three acclaimed Nollywood films- Prince Daniel Aboki’s Mai Martaba, Awam Amkpa’s The Man Died and AMAA 2024 Best Nigerian film The Weekend as directed by Daniel Oriahi have been announced as the headline films for the yearly Nollywood in Hollywood event, which holds from February 28 to March 1 in two venues in California— the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood and the Norris Theatre at the University of Southern California (USC).
While Amkpa’s The Man Died has been announced as the opening night film, Oriahi’s The Weekend will close Nollywood in Hollywood, a celebration of Nigeria’s growing cinema. The event which is is co-presented by the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California, The American Cinematheque at the Egyptian, O2A Media Inc., and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association will include screenings and networking events.
