Fashion designer wins N1m in Nairametrics Pitch

Founder and Creative Director of May Coutures, Mrs. Temitayo Oluyege, has emerged winner of the maiden edition of Nairametrics pitch competition.

The designer that specialises in corporate, casual and bridal wears, incorporating local materials, carted home N1m at the grand finale of the competition in Lagos.

General Manager of Nairametrics, Chris Pemu, said the competition was designed to hunt startups with brilliant business ideas, but struggling for capitals, adding that it’s a way for the organisation to practise what it preaches.

“While thanking our co-sponsors, we look forward to a more elaborate competition in 2024.”Encouraging other young Nigerians, one of the co-sponsors, Shekel Mobolity, represented by its co-founder, Sanmi Olukanmi, who was one of the judges, hailed Nairametrics for supporting startups.

“When we started the whole idea, I expected Nairametrics will do a great job and I was not disappointed. We had some amazing pitches with laudable ideas. If this is the beginning, I can imagine what the next edition will look like,” he said. Responding, the winner appreciated the organisers, promising to mentor other young Nigerians.
