Bangkok Fashion Week 2025 opens with Thai designers showcasing modern identity

Siam Paragon launched the 2025 edition of Bangkok International Fashion Week (BIFW) yesterday, presenting a series of runway shows that highlighted the work of leading Thai designers ISSUE and Greyhound Original. The event, organised in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Merz Aesthetics Thailand, Kasikorn Bank, CITIZEN, THANN, M.A.C Cosmetics Thailand, and ABSOLUTE, runs at Parc Paragon until 19 October.

The opening show featured ISSUE, a brand noted for merging Thai cultural heritage with contemporary fashion. The designer presented the “Made in Thailand” collection, emphasising traditional fabrics and craftsmanship such as woven basketry, reinterpreted for a modern wardrobe.

The show was described as a reflection of contemporary Thai culture, with moments that ranged from humor to poignant drama, illustrating the concept that “Made in Thailand = Made of Everything Thai.”

ISSUE’s runway presentation included performances from actors of the television series Khemjira Must Survive, including Keng-Harit Buayoi, Namping-Napatsakorn Pingmuang, and FirstOne-Wannakorn Reungrat. “The show embodied modern interpretations of Thainess through everyday moments, capturing both creativity and playfulness,” said an organiser.

The event also featured appearances by celebrities and models such as Lukket-Metinee Kingpayome, Pancake-Khemanit Jamikorn, and Bow-Maylada Susri, whose finale appearance concluded the show.

Following ISSUE, Greyhound Original presented its Autumn/Winter 2025 collection, “BODY OF WORK,” emphasising minimalism and urban identity.

The collection incorporated experimental elements, including crumpled textures, torn surfaces, and monochrome tones, inspired by imperfection and workwear aesthetics.

The runway was transformed into an industrial-style art space, reflecting the collection’s narrative of creative exploration.

Greyhound Original’s presentation included performances by T-pop boy band ATLAS and appearances from prominent figures such as PJ-Mahidol Pibulsonggram, Lookmhee-Punyapat Wangpongsathaporn, and MEYOU-Chisanucha Tantimedh. “The collection explored the artistry found in overlooked details, bringing together fashion and experimental design,” said a spokesperson.

BIFW 2025 continues to showcase a variety of Thai designers over the next two days, offering both in-person and online audiences the opportunity to experience the latest developments in Thailand’s fashion industry. The event reinforces Siam Paragon’s role as a key hub for contemporary fashion in Asia, connecting designers, performers, and industry professionals on a single platform.
