The massive turnout at the 2023 GTCO Fashion Weekend was an affirmation to the fact that style and good look is a way of life for everyone regardless of race, ethnicity, colour and culture.

The two-day fashion event that redirected every nook and cranny of Victoria Island in Lagos towards one location – the Water Corporation Drive, last weekend was a dawn of the reality that the GTCO Fashion Weekend in its sixth edition, has successfully made the fashion industry in Nigeria a power sector that every other sector stakeholders from top to bottom reckons with to stay afloat, after all, according to Edith Head who was an American Costume Designer, you can have anything you want in life if you dress for it.

Over the last six editions, the fashion fair has firmly established its place as an incubator for diverse talents, creativity and enterprise in the fashion retail, bringing together some of Africa’s prominent fashion brands alongside relatively newer labels to interact with universally celebrated fashion icons and engaging style personalities.

With a target to promote enterprise, the 2023 edition of the consumer-focused fair designed to showcase the best of Africa’s finest fashion to the global audience featured insightful master classes, thrilling runway shows, free stalls for 120 retailers, exhibition, colourful facades, music, street wear, etc.

Remarking on the event, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Guaranty Trust Holding Company plc, Segun Agbaje said: “Fashion is not just about making items of clothing or style accessories, it is about exploring feelings and channeling creative expressions to create experience that resonate with people across different sectors. The GTCO Fashion Weekend is constantly evolving to reflect the rapid growth of the global fashion industry in terms of size and sophistication, as we continue to draw on the endless possibilities in fashion retail to create better outcomes for individuals, indigenous businesses and our communities.”
