Finally, Imanse steps out bold

Before Imanse got on stage, a host of upcoming acts kept the hall lively with their with fine artistic talent display. A flurry of models strutted the runway a little later to add colours to the exciting and memorable evening.

In 2013 when Afro pop sensation Omowumi Fosudo popularly known as Imanse in the music industry, took a bold step to move back home from her base in the United States, the idea was to reconnect with her roots and enrich her beats with traditional African rhythm. And ever since her homecoming, the singer, who returned after studying and working as a banker for some years in the United States, has been busy in the studio.

After years of working with different producers and collaborating with some A-list artiste, Imanse recently unveiled her EP at a classy event staged at the Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Lagos. Family members, friends and colleagues of the singer attended the event, which started with a special red carpet reception.

Some of the guests at the unveiling include Brymo, Simi, Immaculate, guitarist Fiokee, Mimi Onalaja, Uju Ifejika- Chairperson Brottania U, Eric Opah- MD Fortune Global and Madam Tessa Ikimi, Kelvin Orifa and others.

Performing her singles such as Anosike, Sarewale, Hehe and Original Somebody, Imanse, who played with a live band, was outstanding as she displayed her mastery of the craft. Just few years in Nigeria, she seems to have perfectly wormed her way into the industry. And having worked with notable producers such as Cobhams Asuquo and DJ Coublon, one could easily tell the direction of the music; class.

“I have always looked forward to this day. I have been working tirelessly to make it worth the while for everyone and I’m pleased to have you all join me as I launch out to the big stage,” she enthused.

According to Imanse, the Nigerian music industry has the right platform to contribute to the socio-economic development of the country through talented artiste, who are poised to deliver good contents and lyrics that will educate, entertain and edify everyone.

It would be recalled that Imanse, who has written several songs for a Broadway play, No Limit, in Maryland, the United States, recently dropped a single, Original Somebody. A fusion of Afrobeat, Pop, R&B and Soul music, the track takes the listener back to the good old days of sweet melody and great hooks.
