Six outstanding school children have been awarded scholarships by Spell Africa International (SAI), a non-governmental organisation, following the conclusion of its annual Spelling Leaders Competition.

The competition, which began with preliminary rounds across the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria, featured both primary and secondary school categories. The preliminaries were held in 28 states, culminating in the national finals at Rochester School, Satellite Town, Lagos State.

Speaking at the grand finale, the Founder of Spell Africa International, Gift Akwejevu, said the competition was designed to nurture confidence, talent, and a love for words among young learners.
“To our brilliant winners, remember that every word you mastered is more than just a spelling, it is a building block of knowledge, confidence, and possibility,” she told the participants.

Winners of the 2025 Competition secondary Category include Ewenike Goodness from St. Lawrence Metropolitan College, Ekiti State; Onuoha Henry from Refined Field School, Anambra State and Akinpelumi Feyidara with Good Shepherd Comprehensive School, Ogun State as first, second and third respectively.
