Hakeem Muri Okunola returns
After several months in his cocoon, stylish Lagos big boy, Hakeem Muri-Okunola better known as HMO, has hugged social life again.
He was spotted at a social gathering recently in Lagos, and seen having the best of times at a party with Oba Saheed Elegushi and a few other notable Lagos biggies and babes.
It would be recalled that Okunola quickly recoiled to his shell after he was redeployed as the permanent secretary in the Lands Bureau of Lagos State to the Office of Sports by Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.
Though before his redeployment, there were insinuations within Alausa secretariat over some shady land deals he was allegedly involved in while in the land bureau.
Some of the land deals, according to those who should know, were part of the land that were revoked by the governor.
His fast rise in civil service has set tongues wagging about his influence and clout in the state.
He came into the civil service in 2001, when he served as the company secretary/legal adviser of Ibile Holdings Limited.
In 2003, he became the Personal Assistant to the Executive Governor of the State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In 2005, he became the Executive Secretary to the Governor, Land Use and Allocation Committee.
In 2011, when he was just 39 years old, he became permanent secretary in the same land ministry, a position he held until August 4, 2015.
