From all indications, the tall, fair skinned and beautiful wife of Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi, Rachel, appears to have added the art of philanthropy to her growing list of vocations at the moment.

The ever-smiling woman, whose philanthropic strides have brought succour to many towns and villages through her Family Succour and Upliftment Foundation, has vowed to do more of giving than receiving.

Rachel’s act of giving to society has become a routine, as she is passionate about improving the lives of the masses through her initiative, which since a year ago has given clothes and shelter to widows in the state.

Call her an incurable optimist and you would be right. Rachel is not only living her dream, she has continued to dictate the tempo as life dictates. When there seems to be silver lining behind the cloud, she has always managed to affect the brightness of good that truly matters. Thus, through her social initiatives, hopes have been restored and lives made more meaningful.

With her background of philanthropy, Rachel continues to establish herself as a selfless Nigerian whose goal is to uplift the people for a brighter future, in consonance with government policy and to compliment the good works of her husband.

No wonder she was sometime ago voted as the Most Performing First Lady in the country, having painstakingly reviewed her performance and humanitarian activities, vis-a-vis other First Ladies across the country in the two years of office.

She has advanced and promoted advocacy on issues affecting the well being of women, children and youths, in addition to her exemplary leadership style, demonstration of excellence and empowerment initiatives that have lifted the standard of living of the people.
