Nigerian cinematographer, filmmaker and entrepreneur, Charles Maduemezia, better known as Chigan Madu, has said that he would remain humble to God and give back part of his wealth to alleviate the suffering of society’s poor.

Maduemezia recently increased his humanitarian activities to the less privileged by visiting some orphanage homes in Lagos in order to identify with the children.

A few weeks ago, he was at the Arrow of God Orphanage Home where he was well received by the children and the handlers of the facility who were so happy seeing a celebrity coming to visit them.

“I think we should begin to focus on how we can be looking after ourselves and each other. It feels good and drives the right behaviours that we need to have. Ensuring we have a positive impact on our collective environmental wellbeing. Planning for a smart, safe and secured future,” he told journalists after the visit, even as he promised that he would henceforth be making regular visits to many other orphanage homes in Lagos.

The CEO and Founder of Cmmusic Worldwide Entertainment, the record label he founded in 2017, donated food items and other gifts to the Arrow of God Orphanage Home and promised to always come around to put smiles on the faces of the children from time to time.

“Those who have should give to those who don’t have. We should always be our brothers’ keepers because hands are not equal. The less privileged want us to show them that we care, and more importantly, God Almighty commands us in both Christian and  Muslim religion that we must take care of the poor,” said Chigan Madu.

“We are called to help each other irrespective of ethnic and religious background. This is the most accepted thing in the eyes of God. This is a divine calling to all humans that we should be our brothers’ keepers and allow the spirit of meekness to work in us for us to reach out to the less privileged in the society,” he said.

Madu, who is popular on social media with his comedy skits, was a former head of cinematographers at the University of Ibadan in 2012. In 2014, he was content head at Cool FM Nigeria, while in 2017 he was the production head at Pranks Nigeria.

His Cmmusic Worldwide Entertainment produced Prank Movie, which has received a good rating from Box Office and ranked by Google’s Knowledge Panel, while his growing reputation in the Nigerian entertainment industry has not gone unnoticed, as he was honoured with some awards for his efforts. He received in 2015 a Maya award for Best Cinematographer.

Despite the challenges, Chigan Madu has been able to carve a niche for himself in the industry, rising from obscurity to the limelight.

“My love for the entertainment industry motivated me to forge a career path in that field despite the challenges. I am inspired by the works of veterans such as Tunde Kelani, Tchidi Chikere and Kunle Afolayan,” he said

Chigan Mdau who graduated from the prestigious University of Ibadan wants young Nigerian entrepreneurs who are still struggling to find their feet to know that winners don’t quit, no matter how difficult their situation, as determination, focus and perseverance will bring them to their promised land.
