Aside from the aesthetic, comfort and versatility that rugs give to your floor and overall interior, they insulate the floor and stop heat loss whilst increasing the temperature of a space.

Rugs function well at retaining warmth and are extremely comfortable to walk on barefooted, especially modern rugs as they are made with a softer texture.
Best Warm Rug
. Warm Wool Rugs – Has a great insulator that is perfect for the rainy season and also adds a soft texture on your ground with a soft cozy feet feel.
. Shaggy Rugs – This is said to be the warmest type of rug due to its multiple texture that works well for the cold season.

Small Rug vs Large Rug
While smaller rugs would serve the same benefits, they are restricted to laid floor sections, hence the need to go for large area rugs that would cover the floor and offer higher insulation.
