The JEOG UTME for the year 2025 successfully began at the Ado-Ekiti centre on April 27, 2025, with the arrival of candidates registered for the centre at the designated hotel located very close to the Ekiti State University (EKSU).
All the candidates, together with their guides, were given accommodation and provided with lunch and dinner. Vests, branded with JEOG 2025 UTME, were distributed to all the candidates and their guides. They later filed back to their individual rooms around 8.30 pm.
Activities on the second day, April 28, of the examination began at 6.30am with the breakfast that was taken by the candidates at the hotel. They were later conveyed to the venue of the examination at the Ekiti State University at 8.00am where a brief opening ceremony to flag off the UTME exercise took place.
The event was attended by the DVC Academic Prof. W.O. Adebayo, who represented the Vice Chancellor Prof. J.B. Ayodele; the Ekiti State Commissioner for Education, Dr Mrs Olabimpe Aderiye; the Special Adviser to the Governor on People with Disabilities (PwDs), Dr Adetoun Agboola, members of the Ekiti State University community, among other dignitaries.
The DVC Academic warmly felicitated the JEOG candidates on the opportunity JAMB offered them to sit for the exam, praying that they record successes in their endeavours.
Agboola spoke on government efforts in promoting the education of people with disabilities. The Coordinator of the JEOG Ado-Ekiti centre, Prof Rashid Aderinoye, thanked Ekiti State University for its constant support to JEOG. He appreciated the candidates’ parents for their untiring support. He also thanked the Registrar of JAMB, Emeritus Prof Is-haq O. Oloyede, for his innovation and goodwill for PwDs.
He similarly expressed appreciations to Emeritus Prof Peter Okebukola for his passion in improving the educational needs of PwDs.
