THE kick-off of the third edition of Knorr Taste Quest, a cooking competition was has been announced. At the unveiling in Lagos last week, the Brand Building Director, Unilever Nigeria Plc, Mrs. Nsima Ogedi-Alakwe, explained that the show was created to reinforce Knorr’s culinary expertise and brings to live the brand’s love for flavour.

According to her, the show is designed for people to showcase their culinary skills, as well as bring to the homes of consumers the most exhilarating and educational cooking show in Nigeria.

She noted that Season I and II, which showcased the journey of sixteen contestants who battle it out in the kitchen for the title of Nigeria’s best in culinary matters was a huge success.

“As a result, the brand’s total awareness grew remarkably, reaching over 13 million viewers with the show. We have also gotten numerous comments from our ever growing fans on Facebook on how much they love the show and can’t wait for the third season. Well, the wait is finally over as we have begun the search for the next best cook in Nigeria,” she said.

Ogedi-Alakwe maintained that Season III is going to be filled with more suspense and drama, adding that the show is opened to consumers who are passionate about cooking and ready to explore the various creative ways to cook.

She said, “This season, viewers can expect the unexpected as we are taking culinary expertise to a whole new level. The contestants are in for a ride of a lifetime as a lot of twist and spanners never seen before have been added to this season.”

“The best part of this season is that viewers at home would be more involved in the show as they would not only get to dictate some aspect of the show but they would also get a chance to be a part of the show and taste what the contestants cook,” she added.

Ogedi-Alakwe further explained that the master class edition tagged ‘The Task’ would not only be fiercer but more difficult, as the bar has been set higher, stressing that this season would take everything the contestants have got.

“During the show, our panel of expert judges will give various tasks to the contestants to test their culinary prowess and also their creativity. They would need skills, patience, passion, speed, creativity and stamina to stand the heat in the kitchen,” she stated.
